UPDATE: Woman suffers serious injuries in head-on crash on A15 near Yaxley

A woman was seriously injured in a head-on collision on the A15 near Yaxley yesterday.

Police were called at 11.38am on Sunday, March 5, to the two car crash which closed the road between Yaxley and Norman Cross.

Fire crews from Stanground and Dogsthorpe were called and used specialist cutting equipment to release one female casualty.

Four casualties were out of their vehicles when crews arrived.

The collision involved a Ford Focus and a Renault Megane and the woman, who was driving one of the vehicles, received serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

She was taken to hospital by ambulance.
