UPDATE: Man killed by train near Peterborough - 90 minute delays to all services

It is causing severe delays of up to 90 minutes on to all trains between those stations.

A spokesman for British Transport Police (BTP) said: “We were called to the Lolham crossing in King Street, Helpston, at 10.43am on Friday, 8 April following reports of a person being struck by a train.

“Colleagues from Cambridgeshire Constabulary and East of England Ambulance Service also attended and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious, and officers are now working to identify him and inform his family.

“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

National rail says it is affecting East Midlands Trains; Grand Central; Hull Trains and Virgin Trains East Coast;

A spokesman said: “This is expected to continue until end of service.”

Alternative travel options:

Hull Trains passengers may use Virgin Trains East Coast between Doncaster and London Kings Cross, East Midlands Trains between Sheffield and London St Pancras International, and TransPennine Express between Sheffield and Doncaster

Virgin Trains East Coast passengers may use CrossCountry, Grand Central, Hull Trains, TransPennine Express, Virgin Trains, and East Midlands on any reasonable route.
