Update, Friday: Police name man who died in crash on Deepings road

Police have named the man who died when his car crashed near Deeping St James on Saturday night as Jonathan Robert Harris (22).

Mr Harris, who came from Stamford, died a little over a week before he was due to mark his 23rd birthday on Tuesday, (August 9).

• A 23-year-old man has died after his car left a road and crashed near Deeping St James on Saturday night.

Police believe the crash involved a bronze Renault Megane Coupe which came off the A1175 Stamford to Spalding road, about a mile past the A15/B1525 roundabout in Market Deeping.

The car was discovered at about 9.20pm on Saturday but police are not linking any other vehicles to the fatal crash.

But a Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “We are appealing for any witnesses who were using this road between Stamford and the A15/B1525 roundabout and saw a bronze Renault Megae driving towards Spalding.”
