UPDATE: A1 reopens southbound at Wittering after four vehicle crash

A serious collision closed the A1 southbound at Wittering this afternoon, Wednesday June 1.

Delays are back to the road’s junction with the A43, Kettering Road at Stamford.

The collision took place at 1.50pm and involved four vehicles. There was also a fuel spill. The carriageway has now reopened.

The crash involved a Peugeot 407, a Chevrolet Matiz a Land Rover Discovery and a Ford Transit van which had broken down by the side of the road.

There are no injuries reported.
