Tributes paid to '˜special' member of photo group

Tributes have been paid to a former president of the Peterborough Photographic Society.

Peter Harvey joined the group in October 1963, becoming secretary of the group just three years later.

He became an honorary life member in January 1972, and was one of the first people to be give the Award for Meritorious Service for the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain in 1984, when the award was first given out.

Mr Harvey became president of the Peterborough society in 1993, holding the post for two years. He was then treasurer from 1998 until 2014.

Mr Harvey died, aged 82 in February. David Hodgson, Secretary of the group said he had been a ‘special member’ throughout his life.

A funeral service was held earlier in March, when more than 20 members of the Peterborough society gathered to celebrate his life.
