A woman was hurt after a car collided with a pedestrian on Cowgate in Peterborough city centre on Tuesday morning (2 December).

The incident happened at about 11am .

The road was blocked off as ambulance crews gave first aid to the woman.

An East of England Ambulance service spokesman said the woman, aged in her 40s, suffered minor shoulder injuries in the incident, and was taken to Peterborough City Hospital.

Neil Stephenson, branch manager of Fitzjohn estate agents in Cowgate, said he saw the incident happen.

He said: “I was on the phone at the time and I saw the woman step out into the road, and hit the side of the windscreen of the car.

“I just froze as it happened.

“She was holding her arm as if she had sprained or broken it.

“The car was not going very fast as it had just come round the corner.”
