UPDATE: Woman dies after car is found in water-filled ditch near Ramsey

A woman has died following a tragic collision in Ramsey last night.

Madeleine Parnwell, 68, of First Turf Fen Road, Warboys, left the home of family members at about 9.30pm on Wednesday December 13 driving a green Volvo Torslanda,.

She was driving along Puddock Road when the vehicle came off the road and entered a water-filled ditch.

Fire, police and ambulance were called when her car was found in the ditch at 1.51am today, Friday.

One fire crew and a rescue vehicle from Dogsthorpe, one crew from Chatteris and one crew and a rescue vehicle from Huntingdon attended the scene and winched the car to the bank.

Sadly Mrs Parnwell was pronounced dead at the scene.
