Monday, 11.15am: Commuters are being warned of delays on the railway after a fault was reported on the tracks near Peterborough.
A team of engineers from Network Rail is currently carrying out safety checks on the main line but it means trains between Huntingdon and St Neots are being put on to the “slow line”.
A spokesman for train operator East Coast said: “We don’t expect long delays to services - probably about five to 10 minutes.
“Until the fault has been identified it is difficult to know how long passengers will face delays to services.”
He said the possible fault with the track had been identified at about 10.15am today.
A spokesman for National Rail said: “We are investiagting the issue at the moment.”
