Police name man who died in A1 crash as Georgios Papaefthymiou, 27, from Reading

Police have named the man who died in a crash on the A1 earlier this week.

Georgios Papaefthymiou, 27, from Reading, died when the silver Toyota Corolla he was driving left the road and crashed at Tinwell, near Stamford, at about 10.15pm on Sunday.

The front seat passenger sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital.

It is believed that the car was travelling northbound along the A1 when it left the road.

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: “If you were in the area and saw the vehicle in the moments leading up to the collision, or saw the incident take place, we would like to speak to you.

“Please contact PC 1498 Adrian Carlyle on 101.”
