Peterborough road to re-open after flooding caused week of delays and diversions

Bourges Boulevard will be open later this evening after roadworks to fix a burst water main which left the road flooded have finished.

The road has been shut eastbound between Queensgate Roundabout and Rivergate Roundabout since the main burst early on Monday morning.

Today a spokesman for Anglian Water said: “Following on from the burst water main on Bourges Boulevard in Peterborough earlier this week, we are delighted to announce that work to repair the road surface has now finished and we anticipate the road to be re-opened early this evening.

“Our teams have been working around the clock to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we’re delighted to have completed this repair ahead of schedule.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we’d like to thank local road users for their patience and understanding while we completed this work.”
