Motorists are being warned of roadworks due to take place on Bourges Boulevard in Peterborough city centre.
The works are being carried out by National Grid to replace an iron gas main with plastic pipes.
One lane of Bourges Boulevard will be closed during the works,
Works are already underway in Wentworth Street, and will also take place in Trinity Street,
A National Grid spokesman said: “National Grid is replacing some 200 metres of ageing gas mains in Trinity Street, Wentworth Street and Bourges Boulevard. The existing iron mains are being replaced with tough, long lasting plastic pipes that have a lifespan of at least 80 years.
“Work is currently under way in Wentworth Street and we are about to start in Trinity Street. We will then move on to Bourges Boulevard.
“For the safety of motorists and engineers, we will be closing one lane of the dual carriageway near to Trinity Street down to the junction with Wentworth Street. The lane closure will only be in operation outside of rush hour, from 9.30am to 3.30pm. All the work is due for completion by 23 November.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
