Four week lane closure at Peterborough’s Rhubarb Bridge

Motorists will face a lane closure at Rhubarb Bridge for four weeks from Monday.

Sunday, 2nd February 2020, 5:55 am

Drivers travelling west into the city centre across Junction 18 of the A47/A15 near Brotherhood Shopping Park will see the carriageway reduced to one lane.

Peterborough City Council said: “This will enable barrier works within the island area of the roundabout to be undertaken.”

The ongoing works are seeing Rhubarb Bridge being repaired, while pedestrian crossings are being installed at the busy slip roads at the roundabout and an extra lane of traffic installed at the roundabout.

The scheme has been ongoing since January 2019 with a two month break over the Christmas period, resulting in lengthy delays for motorists.

The works are now expected to finish at the end of March after being pushed back.
