A woman and two young children were hospitalised after an arson attack at a house in Peterborough this morning.

Officers are appealing for information following the suspected arson attack at a house at around 3am today, Monday September 10, in Cherry Tree Drove, Dogsthorpe.

A fire was started outside the front door of the victim’s home and a woman and two young children were taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and remain in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station.

DI Nick Cook said: “The outcome of this attack could have been much worse, I would urge anyone with information to get in touch.”
