Whittlesey man in his 80s airlifted to hospital in serious condition after falling down flight of stairs
A man in his 80s was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital with serious head injuries after falling down a flight of stairs.
The Magpas Helimedix landed in Whittlesey yesterday (Sunday, September 25) at 11am.
A spokeswoman for Magpas said doctor Charlotte Haldane and paramedic Alex Pearce were called to treat a man who had suffered a fall from a height.
She added: “The Magpas team assessed a man in his 80s who had sustained a suspected head injury. The Magpas air ambulance team anaesthetised him at the scene (providing him with care otherwise only available in hospital) to protect his injuries.
“He was then airlifted to Addenbrooke’s where he was in a serious condition upon arrival.”
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “An ambulance crew and Magpas air ambulance attended.
“They treated a man in his 80s who had suffered a serious head injury after falling down a flight of stairs.”
