Traffic in Peterborough at '˜standstill' after vehicle which failed to stop for police crashes - two arrested

Traffic in Peterborough is said to be at a 'standstill' this afternoon after a vehicle which failed to stop for police crashed into another vehicle.

Two people have been arrested after the vehicle which failed to stop at Boongate for police made off from the scene then crashed into another vehicle in Eastfield Road.

Two people in the second vehicle suffered injuries but a police spokesman said they did not appear to be life-threatening. However, an ambulance was called to the scene.

Police said the incident, which they were called to at about 3.39pm, has put “city traffic at a standstill.”

The two people arrested were arrested for driving offences and possession of drugs.
