Stretch of Fletton Parkway in Peterborough remains closed after car crash exposes 'live wires' causing safety issue

Live wires have been exposed after a car hit a lamppost on Fletton Parkway in Peterborough today.

A lane of Fletton Parkway eastbound remains closed while emergency services wait for the live wires to be dealt with by Highways officers.

Police were called at just before 2pm this afternoon (Thursday) with reports of a collision on the Fletton Parkway at Stanground close to the A605 junction.

A Fiat Punto has hit the lamppost removing it from its footing.

Thankfully the driver of the car was not injured in the crash.

The scene may take some time to clear due to live wires exposed by the lamppost.
