Person killed after being hit by train between Stevenage and Peterborough

One person has been killed after being hit by a train between Stevenage and Peterborough today.

The person was struck by a train at near Tempsford Road, Sandy at around noon on Wednesday October 17 and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Lines were blocked and the electricity to overhead cables turned off while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Some London-bound services remains disrupted between Peterborough and Stevenage.
