Mystery over large fire in north of Peterborough
Mystery surrounds the cause of a large fire in Peterborough yesterday which sent large plumes of black smoke into the air.
A number of residents reported seeing a thick plume of smoke coming from the north of the city.
A spokeswoman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue said: “Crews were called at 1.30pm to Norwood Lane.

Hide Ad“They arrived to find a large fire made up of waste and tyres.”
Firefighters used hose reels to extinguish it and returned to their stations by 3.10pm. The spokeswoman said the cause of the fire is unknown.
