Man seriously hurt after digger falls on him in Peterborough

A man has been taken to hospital with a serious foot injury after a digger fell on him in Peterborough.

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) received the 999 call today (Monday, 16th May) at 9.41am and sent an ambulance crew, ambulance officer and Magpas air ambulance.

A man believed to be in his 60s was treated at the scene in Thornhaugh for a serious foot injury after the digger fell and trapped his ankle.

After a full assessment at the scene which included sedating, the patient was taken via land to Addenbrookes Hospital for further treatment in a serious but stable condition.
