There are long delays on the Soke Parkway after a number of deep potholes opened up in the carriageway.

Police have closed one lane of the northbound carriageway of the road while repairs take place.

A spokesman for the force said there were ‘six deep holes’ that had opened up. There have been reports of damage to a number of vehicles as a result.

A spokesman for Highways England said: “Due to severe damage to the carriageway lane 1 of the A47 has been closed between the Bretton and Ravensthorpe junctions, around 300 metres before the Ravensthorpe exit. The whole area will need to be resurfaced over night, please avoid the area if possible.”
