Frank Perkins Parkway in Peterborough reopens after police incident

The road, the A1139, was closed at junction 7 and there were long delays in the area and on surrounding routes.

Officers were called at 1.02pm following a concern for the safety of a man on the Eastfield Road Bridge over the parkway.

Multiple police units attended the scene and the road was closed in both directions.

Motorists were asked to avoid the area if possible, but the road has now reopened as of around 2.30pm.

The man has been helped to safety and is being helped by the authorities.
