A spokeswoman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said three engines were on the scene after they received a call at 1.08pm today (Friday, July 1).

A spokesman for Queensgate said the alarm had been set off by roofing works which had led to smoke going into the vents.

Firefighters were seen going into Hotter Comfort Concept and there was a cordon around it.

Shoppers were told to move away but were able to walk around the rest of the centre.

An alarm could be heard going off by Westgate Arcade.
