Delays of up to an hour on Virgin East Coast Trains to London after person hit by train

There are cancellations and delays of up to an hour on trains between Peterborough and London King's Cross this afternoon after someone was hit by a train.

The emergency services are dealing with an incident between New Southgate and Potters Bar, closing all lines between these stations.

This is causing delays of up to 60 minutes to journeys between London Kings Cross/Moorgate and Stevenage via Potters Bar, with some services diverted to run via Hertford North.

Disruption is expected to continue until approximately 5pm.

The 15:52 from Newark to King’s Cross will be cancelled.
