Children treated by paramedics as school bus overturns in Oundle

A number of children have been treated by paramedics after a school bus overturned following a collision with a car.

Northamptonshire police said the crash involved a bus carrying a number of Prince William School pupils just before 4pm today (Thursday.)

Eye witness reports said some children were covered in blood and crying on the road side.

The spokesman said: “The crash happened in Cotterstock Road, Oundle, just before 4pm.

“The bus had a number of children on board. Some have been treated by paramedics, but no children are believed to have suffered life threatening injuries.

“The car driver also suffered injuries, and has been taken to hospital.

“The road has been closed.”

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue said they were assisting police and ambulance crews on scene, and confirmed there were no serious injuries in the collision, and the road would be closed for the foreseeable future.

This newspaper has approached Prince William School for a comment.
