Arrest made as police deal with very serious crash in Bretton, Peterborough - road to remain closed

An arrest has been made and police are appealing for witnesses after a very serious crash in Bretton, Peteterborough, today.

The crash took place at about 5.20pm on Wednesday August 22, at the junction of Deerleap and Bretton Way and involved a motorcycle and a car.

One person suffered very serious injuries in the crash and one man has been arrested.

Speaking to the Peterborough Telegraph from the scene, Sgt Simon Goldsmith said: "Any witnesses to any vehicles which arose suspicion in the Bretton area this afternoon, but specifically between 5pm and 5.30pm, are asked to contact road policing on 101."

The road is closed between between the Bretton Way BP Garage and Tyesdale Roundabout and police say it is likely to remain closed for some time.

Stagecoach East tweeted: "Road closure due to serious incident at South Bretton currently causing severe delays on services #2 and #3. Please accept our apologies for this incident, which is beyond our control."
