The A14 has now reopened after being shut in both directions following a serious collision in Northamptonshire.

The road was closed between junctions J11 - J12 Cranford/Woodford following an eastbound collision involving two vans and a car.

The westbound carriageway is completely reopened and the eastbound carriageway has one lane open.

The crash, which saw the air ambulance land on the westbound side of the road, caused long queues back to the Cambridgeshire border westbound and back to Kettering eastbound.

Three people were trapped in one of the vehicles.

One person from one of the vans was also injured.
