50 mile diversion in place after serious crash closes A47 between Peterborough and Wisbech

A serious crash between a car and a motorcycle has closed the A47 in both directions.

The A47 is closed in both directions between the A1101 (Wisbech) and the A141 (Guyhirn) due to the collision this evening, Wednesday September 5.

The diversion route is approximately 50 miles long so you are advised to allow plenty of extra time for your journey

The diversion routes are:

* Eastbound - Exit at Guyhirn Roundabout and take the 2nd exit onto the A141 to Chatteris. Then take the A142 towards Ely. Then take the A10 to Kings Lynn. continue on the A10 to re-join the A47 at Hardwick Roundabout.

* Westbound - Exit at Wisbech Roundabout and take the A1101 to Outwell. Then take the A1122 to Downham Market. Then take the A10 to Ely. Then take the A142 towards Chatteris to re-join the A47 at Guyhirn
