The best entrepreneurs and business leaders in the Peterborough region were celebrated in style at the annual Peterborough Telegraph Business Awards..

The 20th annual business awards on Friday night (November 20) were a glittering occasion at Peterborough Arena attended by about 200 business people and their guests.

The showcase of commercial expertise was hosted by radio presenter Melvyn Prior and featured a fascinating talk by guest speaker, jewellery king Gerald Ratner.

Peterborough Telegraph editor Mark Edwards said: “It was fantastic to see so many people again for the awards. It was a brilliant night.

“It is great to be able to showcase some of the best in business in the Peterborough region.

“We would also like to thank all our sponsors, without them we could not stage the awards.

“Great thanks must also go to our judging panel who put in so many hours of hard work looking at documents and visiting businesses.”

PT Business Awards 2015 winners:

The Social Enterprise of the Year Award, sponsored by Rawlinsons, was won by The Leprosy Mission with Hope into Action and Inspire Peterborough highly commended.

The Employer of the Year Award, sponsored by Cross Keys Homes, was won by AB Agri with ABAX and the Peterborough Environmental City Trust highly commended.

The Environmental Achievement Award, sponsored by Allia, was won by the Larkfleet Group with Peterborough Re Use and Riverford Organics highly commended.

The Corporate Social Responsibility Award, sponsored by Cummins Generator Technologies, was won by the BGL Group with AB Agri and Princebuild highly commended.

The Customer Service Award, sponsored by Walters, part of the Ethos Group, was won by XL Displays with Charles & Dean and The Landlord Hub highly commended.

The Young Entrepreneur Award, sponsored by Peterborough Regional College, was won by Heidi Shackell of The Landlord Hub.

The Smaller Business of the Year, sponsored by Bulley Davey, was won by XL Displays with A&M Bacon and Posh Gecko highly commended.

The Larger Business of the Year, sponsored by Hays Specialist Recruitment, was won by the BGL Group with Bradshaw Electric Vehicles highly commended.

The Business Person of the Year Award, sponsored by Peterborough City Council, was won by Mike Walters.
