A spectacular family fun day to celebrate children's charity

More than 230 children and their families made their way down to Woodfield Park in Dogsthorpe on Saturday for a spectacular family fun day.

A team of volunteers from Junction, BGL Group’s partnerships business, worked alongside the Peterborough Barnardo’s team and Families First to organise the event in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the national children’s charity.

The event, funded by donations from Junction, Cross Keys, KA Wing and the Barnardo’s Parent Forum, took place under the glorious summer sun and featured an array of activities for everyone to get involved in.

From face painting to a giant version of Snakes and Ladders, all of the activities were completely cost free to support the families looking to treat their children.

Kat Band, assistant director of Children Services at Barnardo’s said: “It was lovely to host this event with the support of our partners and also mark the 150th anniversary of Barnardo’s.”
