SPALDING MURDER: Police renew appeal for information as victims are formally identified

Post mortem examinations have also been completed but police say they are unable to provide further details about the cause of death at present.

DCI Martin Holvey, of EMSOU Major Crime, who is leading the enquiry, said: “I would like to thank the people of Spalding for their support and the assistance they have given to our officers.

“However, we still need to know as much as possible about Liz and Katie so reiterate our appeal to anyone with information to speak to local officers or call us on 101, quoting incident 163 of April 15.”

DCI Holvey added: “I would personally like to thank the staff of both the Sir Gleed School in Spalding and St Paul’s Primary for their support since the investigation began and for their ongoing assistance as we continue to work closely together.

“I am also taking this opportunity to remind everyone that the two youths charged cannot be named due to their age. The reporting restrictions imposed by the judge apply to everyone, including members of the public, and people must not post information on social media which could lead to identification or they risk being in contempt of court, which is a very serious offence”.
