Slideshow: Peterborough cheers on record numbers in the Great Eastern Run

A record number of people were cheered on by the Peterborough crowds when they took part in the Great Eastern Run today.

There were 4,160 runners plus five wheelchair entrants and a further 1,396 people in the fun run.

Hot favourite Sandrak Korir claimed victory in an unofficial time of 63.40 for the half marathon, two minutes outside the course record. Korir led home a Kenyan 1-2-3 as he was followed in by Gideon Kimosap and Josephat Kemei.
