Serious crash shuts A1 in Cambridgeshire
A serious two vehicle collision shut part of the A1 in Cambridgeshire this afternoon, Thursday May 19.
The southbound carriageway was shut between Buckden and Southoe following a crash at Diddington.
Police fire and ambulance were called at 3.10pm.
One woman has been injured in the collision.
There were long delays in both directions.
Traffic was queuing between the Buckden roundabout and Little Paxton, northbound and from Buckden back to the Brampton turn southbound.
A police spokesman said they hoped to have the road opened before rush hour.
UPDATE: The road reopened at around 5.10pm but delays remain.
