School project for charity team

A five-strong charity team from Warboys is heading to South Africa to work on a school building project.

Sean Dennis has been involved with the charity Mellon Educate since 2007, when he participated on his first “Building Blitz”. He was taken aback by the work the charity did, and this will be his fourth blitz.

“Following last year’s blitz, I wanted to do more for the charity, and this year there is a team of five of us from Warboys, going to South Africa on November 5 for one week to build and renovate schools in the township of Khayelitsha. After the blitz, the charity puts in place the infrastructure for the best education of the pupils. Our previous schools have gone from an 80% failure, to a 70% pass rate in two years.”
