A retiring nurse was honoured at a presentation to mark her 25 years of service at the same surgery.

Sister Liz Howlett retired from the Jenner Health Centre on Thursday, May 14.

Liz was thanked by the surgery’s patient participation group (PPG) a day earlier during its AGM at the health centre in Turners Lane.

Chair Gary Stewart presented her with a book of good luck messages from the practice’s patients, and other mementos.

A spokesman for the PPG committee said: “Liz has made an immense contribution to practice life and to the people of Whittlesey and will be missed by all the team at the practice and by the many patients she has seen and helped over the years.”

Gary also presented a cheque for £500 from the PPG to Peter Ashworth, vice chair of Whittlesey Young Peoples Counselling Service, which provides counselling services to people aged between 14 and 25 in Whittlesey, Yaxley and Stanground.
