A race night at Quinn’s Bar in Market Street, Whittlesey, raised over £3,000 towards a special bed for a poorly six-year-old.
Lotus Cameron-Daniels needed the right-side of her brain to be detached from the left-side to stop her having over 300 seizures a day, but because of her under-development she needs constant supervision meaning mum Lorraine Daniels sleeps with her at night.
Lorraine, of Priors Road, Whittlesey, is now closing in on her target for the Sleepsafe Bed which would stop Lotus from possibly rolling out.
Speaking after Saturday’s race night, Lorraine said: “It did really well and it was a good night had by all.”
The next fundraising event is Jim’s Bingo at the Whittlesey Conservative Club in Whitmore Street on Wednesday, February 24.
Following that, a charity quiz night is being held at the Nags Head in Eastrea Road on Sunday, February 28.
Both events are set to start at 7pm.
