Queen's party for city 90-year olds

Residents aged 90 are being invited to a special party to mark the Queen's birthday.

Catering students at City College Peterborough will prepare a three-course dinner for 90 VIP guests, including local people also celebrating their 90th birthday this year.

The free event will be held at the Main Hall, City College Peterborough, Brook Street, from 12.30pm on Thursday June 9 , and applications from people born in 1926 who want to join the party are open now.

Mayor of Peterborough, Councillor John Peach, said: “Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday is certainly an occasion for national celebration.

“I was delighted to learn about City College Peterborough’s fantastic plans to join in with the party.

“It will be a superb way of marking the occasion on a more local level and is a lovely way of getting Peterborough residents together who were also born in 1926.”
