Young legal eagles put their law skills to the test in their own court room drama.
The youngsters from Arthur Mellows Village College took part in the Mock Trial Competition at Peterborough Crown Court on Saturday, taking on pupils from King John Middle School in Thrapston and Soham Village College in a challenge to show off their skills.
The teenagers took on the roles of court staff, judges, barristers and even defendants in the competition, which took place in court room two in the city building.
The winner by a slight margin was King John Middle School, and they will move onto the regional final later in the spring.
The pupils were supported by several magistrates and members of court staff during the day, along with Cambridgeshire High Sheriff, Linda Fairbrother.
The national competition, run by the Citizenship Foundation, is set up to test the youngster’s legal knowledge, and gain an insight into the court system.
