Praise for Bretton Library volunteers

The Friends of Bretton Library, a team of eight hard-working volunteers, have been helping to promote the work of the library, raising public awareness and funds to help keep the library going.

From coffee mornings to book sales, the group of volunteers have raised more than £1,000 for the library over the last year, which has been used to improve the children’s and young adults section and most recently to renovate the meeting room.

Library supervisor Sally-Anne Fulcher said: “The Friends of Bretton Library have been such great support and I really feel they could do with some recognition for all of their hard work.

“Without their help we wouldn’t be able to run the library - so a massive thank you goes out to them all.”

The friendly group is always looking for new members to join them, to help with promotional activities and fundraising events.

The group also hosts a meeting on the first Saturday of every month, so feel free to drop in and express your interest in joining.

The next meeting will be held at the library on Saturday, February 6, from 10am to 11am.

Bretton Library is located on the right just inside the entrance to the Cresset in the Bretton Centre.

Facilities include a meeting room (available to hire), children’s area, copying and faxing, adaptive technology which allows access to computing for those with disabilities and computers for public use.
