A leading health professional has walked away from a six-figure salary job at Peterborough City Council.
The legally-required role of Director of Public Health was offered to Dr Henrietta Ewart with a salary of £117,988.
However, there was disagreement over whether Dr Ewart’s contract could continue from her time in the NHS, which would include her years of employment, rather than being a new one.
This would have impacted on any pay-outs should she have been made redundant. Dr Ewart, who is the interim Director of Public Health, leaves on February 22.
