Formed by Peterborough City Council and award winning national supplier OVO Energy, Peterborough Energy aims to save residents money by offering competitively priced, fair tariffs.

Andy Cox, head of energy programmes for Peterborough City Council, said: “More and more people are realising that they can save money on their energy bills and that it’s not a time consuming thing to do.

“Simply visit www.peterboroughenergy.co.uk, enter a few details for a quote and then you can complete the switch online or on the phone. We’ll also liaise with your existing energy supplier so that you don’t need to.

“Regardless of whether you want to switch to Peterborough Energy or not, keep an eye on when your current fixed rate ends as it could end up costing you money if you don’t. It is estimated that up to 30 fixed rate deals with energy suppliers expired at the end of March. Customers who do nothing will transfer to their supplier’s standard rate, which is usually one of the more expensive rates.”

Peterborough Energy also has a gas and electricity tariff available to all city residents with pre-payment meters (Peterborough Energy PAYG).

If you’ve switched to Peterborough Energy, don’t forget to tell your friends. Both you and your friend will receive a £20 Amazon voucher when they switch too.

You can either do this by logging into your account online and adding their details, or your friend can click ‘been referred by a friend?’ when accepting their quote.

For information on switching, see www.peterboroughenergy.co.uk or call 0800 408 6706 for pay monthly customers or 0800 408 6710 for Pay As You Go (PAYG).
