The nomination process for candidates to become the first elected Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough opened yesterday.
The deadline for nominations is at 4pm on Tuesday, April 4.
The deadline to register to vote is midnight on Thursday, April 13. The fastest way to register is online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
People can also visit the Town Hall in Bridge Street. They will be asked to confirm their date of birth and national insurance number and should bring documents to verify their name and address and either a passport or driving licence that includes a photograph.
Applications for new postal votes must reach the council’s electoral services team by 5pm on Tuesday, April 18. The deadline to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm on Tuesday, April 25.
