Last chance to have a say in devolution deal

Today (August 23) is the last chance to give your views on a proposed devolution deal for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Residents and businesses can have their say as to whether eight organisations should come together as one to have a combined authority.

Under this system, it means a number of decisions would be made locally, rather than nationally.

Peterborough City Council has argued that the deal could bring a number of benefits for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough including more money being invested in jobs, housing, transport and local infrastructure.

However, there has been controversy over plans for an elected mayor for the region.

To have your say, residents in Cambridgeshire can go to www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/devolutionsurvey and Peterborough residents can go to www.peterborough.gov.uk/devolution.
