A potential job share for Peterborough City Council’s chief executive is moving forward.
Cambridgeshire County Council, which wants to share Gillian Beasley with Peterborough for 12 months, has said progress is being made towards a temporary arrangement between the authorities.
Ms Beasley’s £170,000 salary and additional costs would be split by both councils.
A statement from Councillor Joshua Schumann, chairman of staffing and appeals committee for the county council, said: “Cambridgeshire Appointment Committee met on Thursday 10th September and has made further progress towards recommending a shared chief executive arrangement with Peterborough for a 12 month interim period.
“There are a number of further stages to be concluded at both councils before anything can be confirmed with the final decision resting in the hands of both Peterborough and Cambridgeshire’s councillors at their respective Full Council meetings.”
