The contribution made by the armed forces was marked with a day of activities in Peterborough city centre at the weekend.

The Mayor of Peterborough, Councillor John Peach, and mayoress Janet Martin, made a speech in Cathedral Square as part of Armed Forces Day on Saturday (June 27).

A series of events then took place including a military parade and military bands, community stalls and dances, a tea party, a biker and scooter procession, musical performances and a flypast.

The Mayor also inspected the parade at the Guildhall and Cathedral Square.

Armed Forces Day was also held in Market Deeping on Saturday.
