Funding needed to help rough sleepers
The Conservative-led cabinet agreed with the vast majority of 14 recommendations put forward by a working group, but it was concerned that the cash-strapped council would need to find funding of £100,000 to bring them fruition.
The cabinet, which commended the current work by council officers, agreed several of the recommendations but will only implement the others if it can find enough money for them.

Approved recommendations include establishing formal daytime drop-in advice and advocacy services for rough sleepers and giving them small cards with contact details for rough sleeper touch points. However, a request for a new weekend outreach worker was only agreed with the provision that funding is available.
