The chase began at around 2.20am when a green Land Rover Defender failed to stop for officers outside the town.

Norfolk Police say officers pursued the vehicle from the Elm Hall roundabout, along Elm High Road and onto Westmead Avenue.

During the chase, the Land Rover rammed the police car, a Ford Focus, several times, eventually immobilising it. One officer was treated for minor injuries, but continued with his duties.

The Land Rover then made off towards the centre of Wisbech.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Sgt Simon Stone, of Downham Market police, on 101.
