Police searching for missing Peterborough man John Brophy discovered a body on Friday (16 January).
John Brophy (54) had been missing from his home in Water End, Thorpe Meadows,
Peterborough, since Thursday, 8 January when police issued an appeal as to his wherabouts.
He lived alone, and had not been reported missing until Monday, 12 January, when he failed to attend a scheduled medical appointment.
Sadly a body was found in a tributary of the River Nene at Thorpe Meadows, near Mr Brophy’s home on Friday, 16 January.
A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said the death was not being treated as suspicious, and the case was being passed to the Peterborough coroner.
He said: “Police would like to thank media and members of the public for their support with the appeal.”
