Police name two killed in crash in Cambridgeshire village

Police have named the two people who were killed in a crash in a Cambridgeshire village yesterday, Wednesday March 2.

Police were called at 1.34pm to Newmarket Road, the A1303, in Bottisham with reports of a three vehicle collision.

Kubaeb Asad, 21, of Whitehill Road in Cambridge and Rumena Begum, 21, of Darwin Drive, Cambridge died when the blue Vauxhall Corsa they were travelling in was involved in a collision with two other vehicles.

The other vehicles involved in the collision were a Mercedes refuse lorry and a white Renault Kangoo.

The driver of the refuse lorry, a man in his 50s, received minor injuries as a result of the collision. No other injuries were sustained.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact the road policing unit on 101.
