Hundreds of people lined the streets of Werrington on Saturday for the annual Werrington Scout and Guide Carnival.

A procession of colour and sound filled the streets as children from across Peterborough took part in the celebrations.

From Jack-in-the-box to Mr Men, there were plenty of recognisable characters to entertain the crowds, resulting in smiles a plenty.

Carnival Queen, Daisy Crouch and her Carnival Princess, Kasia Tarver and Flower Girls, Heather Mckie, Holly French and Sophia Al-Sheba also took part in the parade, giving the royal wave to spectators.

Paul Smedley, one of the committee members for the Werrington Carnival said: It was a very enjoyable and successful year.”
