“It’s a privilege to be able to give something back to our local community and to a charity that is close to our hearts,” said Rick Haley, Technical Director and owner of SidewinderUK .com

Initially both Dawn and Tina planned to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, but Dawn was unable to participate due to her own treatment dates clashing with their trip. Instead, Dawn has been behind the fundraising effort here in the UK.

Tina said: “Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro was the ultimate privilege for me. It is not everyone’s idea of a pampering experience, there is no doubt about it, it’s hard work, dusty, lacking in luxury and swimming pools. The privilege is for one week the climber becomes part of the mountain. You cannot help but be engrossed in the diverse and spectacular scenery – like nothing you can see anywhere else.”
